Echocardiographer - Vascular

Overview

General Job Summary (Two or three sentences that sum up the position): Performs vascular and cardiac ultrasound exams. Must be familiar with all aspects of echocardiography and vascular sonography. Reports on preliminary findings and critical results. 

 

Responsibilities

Performs routine and complex echo and vascular ultrasound and PVR

Takes patient history

Performs focused physical exam

Provides preliminary description of findings

Alerts appropriate personnel of critical findings

Maintains equipment

Works closely with physicians

Trains and contributes to on-boarding of new personnel

Maintains credentials and CEU's

Other duties as directed by management

 

Qualifications

Education:  Completion of a Cardiovascular Sonography Program

Necessary Skills:  

Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology

Maintain patient and staff confidentiality

Serves as a resource for other departments

Serves as a role model for all personnel in department.

Interacts with families, patients, physician

Within one (1) year of hire or transfer must have one (1) of the following certifications: RVT, RVS, RDCS or RCS
