The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Health System Specialist. The Health System Specialist with function within the Chief of Staff Service as the primary liaison to multiple staff offices and serves as the conduit for information flow and management of assignments between such offices.
Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Knowledge of budget planning and execution. Coordinator for interviews, interview panels, travel (as needed) for Associate Chiefs of Staff, Service Chiefs, administrative, and other key positions throughout Chief of Staff services. Assists COS, DCOS, Service Chiefs with recruitment of management positions within their services. Knowledge of and experience with VA databases. Ability to pull data and analysis. Fluent with Excel, VSSC, Pyramid Analytics and other data sources. Ability to manipulate data and break down for all to understand. Lean Six Sigma belt trained. Lead belt on process/performance improvement projects. Develops working relationships with Chief of Staff, Deputy Chiefs of Staff, Service Chiefs, Section Chiefs, AOs, and other administrative staff and others to accomplish organizational goals. Develops sound action plans based on findings from both internal and external surveys. Works with many services to complete tasks in action plan. Works with services outside of the Chief of Staff services to accomplish goals, create efficiencies, and performance improvement. Using data from multiple sources, develops resource needs business cases and presents them to ELT and others. Develops sounds analyses and presents in such a way that could be understand by those know knowledgeable in the subject. Creates service goals for Chief of Staff office and services aligned to Chief of Staff. Understand what is needed to accomplish those goals and executes tools for accomplishment. Ability to understand how the Chief of Staff services impact and/or influence other service metrics, goals, obstacles, and/or challenges. Works to alleviate any negative impact on those services while still accomplishing the organizational goals. COR trained with knowledge and skillset to work multiple procurements and/or contracts.
