The Battery Manufacturing Engineering team is opening new highways with our next-generation propulsion systems. We're investing over $50 billion to build some of the most technologically advanced EV manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and E.U. to produce the next generation of Ford electric vehicles. What You'll Do

  • Lead cross-functional teams from program kickoff through launch to deliver safe, quality products on time and within budget.
  • Own the master program schedule, coordinating engineering teams and suppliers to achieve key milestones.
  • Manage equipment delivery, runoff, shipment, installation, commissioning, and build event timing.
  • Track program progress against schedule and drive actions to maintain launch timing.
  • Document, track, escalate, and resolve engineering and supplier issues; provide regular status updates.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions to facilitate issue resolution and remove roadblocks impacting critical-path activities.
  • Develop program financial commitment curves and funding plans with engineering teams.
  • Manage budgets, purchase orders, cost reviews, and financial reporting for program reviews.
  • Lead teams through program milestones, ensuring required deliverables, documentation, and containment plans are completed.
  • Coordinate prototype and spare-part procurement, including lead times, ordering, tracking, and delivery.
  • Lead regular occurring program meetings to review status, issues, action items, risks and key developments.
  • Manage change requests and study activities, including cost, timing, and issue impact assessments.
  • Represent Battery Manufacturing Engineering at meetings, program reviews, trials, supplier runoffs, and site activities.
  • Lead program reviews, including agenda development, content validation, and presentation delivery.
  • Maintain internal and external program SharePoint sites, documentation, and user access.
  • Visit suppliers to review timing, equipment design, build progress, and runoff readiness.
  • Travel to manufacturing sites to support equipment installation, commissioning, pre-production, and production builds.

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Self-starting, self-motivated individual with a learning and growth mindset.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to handle technical aspects of the position.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% during Install, Commissioning, and Launch phase. 

 

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Machine Design knowledge and/or experience.
  • Comfortable with domestic and international travel.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead personnel located at remote sites.
  • Prior Project Management experience.

This position is a salary grade 7-8 and ranges from $86,600-$166,200.    

 
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
