About You
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and result-driven Collections Analyst to join our Finance team. The incumbent will be responsible for managing collections activities, tracking outstanding receivables, following up on overdue accounts, and supporting the organization’s cash flow objectives.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in accounts receivable and collections, strong analytical skills, and the confidence to communicate with customers through calls and emails to ensure timely payment follow-ups and resolution of outstanding issues. The candidate should also be proficient in NetSuite, MS Excel, and Google Sheets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end collection activities for assigned customer accounts.
- Review aging reports and identify overdue invoices/accounts for follow-up.
- Follow up with customers through calls, emails, and other communication channels to collect outstanding payments and secure payment commitments.
- Confidently communicate with customers to address delayed payments and resolve queries related to invoices and balances.
- Investigate payment delays, short payments, and disputed invoices in coordination with internal teams such as Finance, Billing, Sales, and Customer Success.
- Maintain accurate records of collection efforts, customer communication, payment commitments, and follow-up actions.
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure proper allocation of incoming payments.
- Monitor unapplied cash, overdue balances, and collection trends.
- Prepare periodic reports/MIS on collections performance, overdue accounts, and dispute status.
- Support month-end closing activities related to receivables and collections.
- Escalate high-risk or severely overdue accounts as per company policy.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial procedures, and company policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve collections efficiency and reduce outstanding debt.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in Collections, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes.
- Experience in customer payment follow-ups, overdue account management, and account reconciliation.
- Prior experience working with NetSuite or a similar ERP/accounting system.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, collections processes, aging analysis, and reconciliation.
- Proficiency in NetSuite.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, filters, sorting, and basic formulas.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets for maintaining trackers and reports.
- Confident and comfortable in making collection calls and speaking with customers professionally.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good negotiation and follow-up skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience in a fast-paced finance, shared services, or SaaS environment.
- Familiarity with collection metrics such as DSO, aging buckets, and overdue trends.
- Exposure to dispute resolution and customer account management.
- Experience in preparing dashboards or management reports.
