Assistant Manager, Enterprise Customer Communications & eNews
The American Express Brand Team is responsible for building strong awareness, connection and brand affinity amongst both prospects & existing customers. The local ANZ Brand Team works closely to champion, protect and support the American Express Brand in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) in close collaboration with our Global Brand Marketing Team. Our remit works across Consumer, Business & Merchant objectives with an Enterprise mindset at the heart of our strategy and vision.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced & passionate marketer to join the American Express Brand Team and drive through the line communication strategy & execution for customers through the line in key longstanding enterprise-wide initiatives including Delicious Month Out & Shop Small. In addition, the role will look after customer-specific content to engage, inspire and educate our customers around the many benefits available with Amex. The successful candidate will have experience in customer marketing channels and a keen eye for what good content looks like, alongside a passion to drive innovation, build engaging communications and future proof our customer communications.

The team’s core measures of success are driving Brand Consideration uplift and growing acquisition demand for future Card Members. The ideal candidate for this role will need robust stakeholder management skills, strong attention to detail and a creative thinker who is calm under pressure and has a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude to join our team.
- Support the development and execution of multi-channel brand initiatives, with a focus on the marketing funnel, awareness and content channels.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, creative agencies and external partners to develop and execute marketing campaigns that drive Card Member engagement and support key business objectives.
- Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of marketing initiatives across channels including Email, Social, Publisher Content, Amex.com, the Amex App and servicing channels as required.
- Ensure all marketing activity complies with regulatory and brand requirements through effective management of various governance processes.
- Monitor campaign performance, analyse results and provide insights and recommendations to optimise future activity.
- Manage campaign budgets, purchase orders and invoice processing, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of marketing spend.
- Passion and experience in content-first marketing initiatives across channels including Social, Publisher, Website and others.
- Experience in a marketing or campaign management role, preferably within financial services or loyalty.
- Strong attention to detail, highly organised and positive can-do attitude with an ability to think innovatively to solve problems
- Strong stakeholder management skills including working with compliance and legal teams, peers, senior management and central stakeholders
- Agency management experience highly regarded - ability to foster positive, productive relationships with agencies, ensuring deliverables are being met
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with presenting
- Ability to optimise internal process as business needs evolve and bring innovative thinking to existing process.
- Team player who is proactive and flexible with a positive attitude plus a willingness to learn
- Results oriented with excellent organisational skills, and written & oral communications skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related discipline preferred.
