Role purpose:To provide comprehensive legal, regulatory and corporate governance support to the Mozambique Tower Company ("TowerCo"),[JT2.1] ensuring that the company operates in compliance with applicable laws, licence conditions, shareholder agreements, statutory and governance requirements.The Senior Specialist: Legal Advisor will act as the primary legal counsel to the Board, executive management and business functions, supporting the successful establishment, operation and growth of the company whilst protecting its legal and reputational interests.The role requires an independent legal professional capable of managing complex commercial transactions, telecommunications regulatory matters, infrastructure agreements, land rights, corporate governance, compliance obligations and stakeholder engagements with limited supervision while interfacing effectively with regulators, shareholders, external counsel, commercial and Technical teams.Key Accountabilities:Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, managing legal disputes, overseeing labor, corporate and commercial law matters and representing the company in legal proceedings when necessary;Support implementation of the governance framework established under the Shareholders Agreement, Articles and Board Charter. Provide legal support to the Board of Directors, Board Committees and management;Provide commercially pragmatic legal advice balancing risk management with business objectives;Manage litigation and develop litigation strategies; Monitor legal spend and external counsel performance;Ensure full compliance by the company with all internal and legal obligations in terms of Mozambican law;Deal with public and governmental institutions in order to obtain licences and necessary official documents;What we are looking in you:Law degree (LLB);Registered with the Bar Association (OAM), an advantage;Core legal skills: Corporate and Commercial Law; Telecommunications Law; Infrastructure and Construction Law; Property and Land rights; Corporate Governance; Competition Law; Project Financing; Public Procurement; Litigation Management; Excellent drafting skills;Good communication skills, both spoken and written in English and Portuguese;Strategic thinking, commercial acumen, strong judgement under ambiguity;High integrity and ethical standards;Ability to balance legal risk with pragmatic business outcomes;Ability to multitask, work independently with minimum supervision and have strong commitment to ensure deliverables are met in timely manner;Minimum 5 years of post-qualified working experience, with demonstrated exposure in the core areas highlighted above.Who we are
