This position will be located at Roy, UT to support the Sentinel (GBSD) program in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. The role will be responsible for the design, development, production, and deployment of launch equipment hardware and systems for each weapons system facility. Working in a dynamic, people-focused environment, the engineer will collaborate closely with users, customers, and fellow engineers to deliver high performance mechanical solutions for the Sentinel program. This position may be filled at a higher level based on qualifications below.Roles and ResponsibilitiesPrimary role is to serve as a mechanical designer for mechanical systems (mechanisms) design on a major Northrop Grumman Defense Systems programResearch, plan, design, and develop mechanical/aerospace products for aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, ground vehicles and associated ground and test equipmentDevelop CAD models and 3D model based drawings using Siemens NX and Team CenterVerify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysisSupport all phases of the systems lifecycle including design, drawings, fabrication, test, installation, operation and maintenanceDesign of components/systems, and preliminary/sizing analysis for both stress and dynamic analysis of aerospace structures.Preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, design documents (drawings and specifications) and interface with customers.Basic QualificationsThis position may be filled at a Mechanical Engineer (2) or Principal Mechanical Engineer (3) level based on qualificationsMechanical Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with 2 years of relevant...
