Accountabilities:
- Conduct systems engineering analyses to support requirements trades, design decisions, integration activities, and end-to-end system performance evaluations.
- Develop, decompose, review, and manage system requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead architecture assessments, capability evaluations, and complex trade studies to support informed technical decisions.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate system risks, uncertainties, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
- Translate technical analysis into actionable recommendations for government stakeholders and program leadership.
- Manage requirements, interfaces, and architecture change processes.
- Support planning, execution, and reporting of capability trade analyses and technical studies.
- Lead multidisciplinary working groups and coordinate collaboration across engineering teams and external partners.
- Contribute to integration, verification, and validation strategies for advanced communication systems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship while supporting team objectives and program success.
- Principal level: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related professional or military engineering experience; or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD with 1+ year of experience.
- Sr. Principal level: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of related professional or military engineering experience; or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience; or a PhD with 4+ years of experience.
- Active, current Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance or higher, granted or renewed within the past 6 years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access clearance.
- Experience planning, executing, and presenting complex engineering trade studies.
- Full lifecycle systems engineering experience, including concept development, requirements definition, design, integration, and verification.
- Experience with Military Satellite Communications (SATCOM), particularly Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) systems, is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of capabilities trade analysis, mission analysis, information assurance, and systems integration.
- Experience supporting satellite communication system testing and evaluation.
- Familiarity with NSA certification processes, MIL-STD-810, and/or DO-160 standards is preferred.
- Strong customer focus, communication skills, collaboration abilities, and demonstrated technical leadership experience.
- Ability to work onsite and support occasional travel requirements.
- Competitive salary ranges:
- Principal level: $98,400 - $147,600 annually.
- Sr. Principal level: $122,800 - $184,200 annually.
