You will serve as the technical Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for opto-mechanical display subsystem design, development, and implementation for head worn devices, including wave guide, display engines, and Rx lenses. You will work closely with external partners to support technology deployment and product development. US: $159000 - $231000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits Learn more aboutbenefits at Google (https://www.google.com/about/careers/applications/benefits/) . **Responsibilities** + Drive end-to-end discussions on system assembly process down-selection, prototyping, equipment and tooling needs for high precision assembly meeting mechanical, optical and reliability requirements. + Lead development and architecture efforts for miniaturization of novel opto-mechanical subsystems, working with other system and cross-functional leads to arrive at reusable designs optimized for consumer usage. + Work to drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) efforts from early New Technology Introduction (NTI) to prototype to mass production, working closely with internal and external partners and contract manufacturers. + Own and develop comprehensive requirements documents and tolerance stackup analyses to ensure performance and reliability of opto-mechanical systems through the conditions expected by mass production consumer hardware. + Establish mechanical and optical datuming and metrology strategies, using these strategies to devise reliable and fixtures, measurement capabilities, and validation approaches.
