Our client, a leading industrial company operating in the environmental and waste management sector, is seeking to recruit a Health & Safety Engineer to support the safe and compliant operation of its production facilities.

The ideal candidate is an engineering professional with experience in Health & Safety management within an industrial environment. They possess a solid understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, risk assessment methodologies, and management systems, while demonstrating strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and promote compliance with Health & Safety policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
  • Conduct inspections of production areas, warehouses, and technical facilities to identify and assess occupational risks
  • Implement and monitor preventive and corrective measures to improve workplace safety
  • Manage and support the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 Management Systems
  • Support certification processes and compliance audits conducted by authorities and certification bodies
  • Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the effective implementation of Lock Out – Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
  • Monitor contractors and external partners regarding compliance with Health & Safety requirements
  • Maintain H&S records, reports, and documentation in accordance with legal and company requirements
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommending corrective and preventive actions
  • Organize and deliver Health & Safety and fire safety training programs to employees
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness initiatives, including evacuation and emergency response drills
  • Collaborate with Occupational Physicians, external consultants, and internal stakeholders on Health & Safety matters
  • Support maintenance projects and technical interventions, ensuring compliance with safety requirements
  • Participate in risk assessments, hazard studies, and environmental compliance activities

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • Certification and legal eligibility to perform the duties of a Safety Technician under applicable legislation
  • Previous experience in Health & Safety and/or ISO Management Systems
  • Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment will be considered a strong asset
  • Good knowledge of ISO Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
  • Strong understanding of Greek and European Health & Safety legislation
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, training, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Very good command of the English language
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
