You will be responsible for the facilitation of short coverage requirements on behalf of our Prime Finance client base via the use of the securities lending and derivative financing markets. The optimized use of this product set is fundamental to maximizing profitability within the binding constraints of financial resources of the firm.

 J.P. Morgan’s Prime Brokerage is a collaborative and complex business, serving hedge fund clients to provide a full spectrum of integrated capabilities, combined with the strength and resources of a leading global bank. The business provides multiple options for financing, clearing, portfolio servicing and event management across multiple asset classes and customized solutions for many of our clients. 

 

Job responsibilities

  • Securities Finance trading on both Equity and Fixed Income product set across global markets
  • Participate in risk management of the prime business; FX, cross-currency basis, interest rate, dividend etc. 
  • Understand and manage financial resources; Balance sheet, capital & liquidity
  • Book management to ensure inefficiencies are minimized
  • Produce market commentaries
  • Evolve existing processes and workflows through automation

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Prime Brokerage Industry expertise - knowledge and awareness of the market, cash and synthetic financing landscape
  • Middle Office or Product Control experience
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, ability to work independently - knowing what to do, how to get it done and willingness to "roll up your sleeves" to deliver
  • Team player and leadership potential- ability to engage senior business partners across geographies and functional disciplines and partner effectively to deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to effectively target messages to different audiences

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
