Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Patient Support Representative, you will be responsible for performing various general administrative support duties associated with the patient intake process for the assigned facility, in accordance with established guidelines.Every day, you will interact with patients, either directly or by phone, to manage check-in/out, collect and enter demographic/financial data, validate insurance, schedule appointments, and collect payments. You will obtain and process referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications, and work with patients to fulfill referral needs and clarify insurance benefits. Your work requires critical thinking, responsiveness to patient needs with solutions, knowledge of insurance/billing requirements and privacy practices, and medical terminology. You will follow proper communication channels for daily issues and escalate as needed. Strong customer service skills are paramount, ensuring the highest level of service consistently. You will generally operate from a front desk or phone-based role, interacting directly or remotely with patients.To be successful in your role, you will meticulously manage the administrative aspects of patient intake, ensuring seamless check-in/out processes, accurate data collection, and efficient scheduling. You will demonstrate exceptional customer service skills by proactively identifying patient needs, offering diverse solutions, handling complex insurance authorizations and billing, and maintaining strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality practices, all to enhance the patient experience and optimize the patient intake process.
