You will collaborate closely with technical artists, animators, and level designers to ensure visual and technical consistency. Accountabilities:
- Produce 3D character models with a focus on faces, clothing, physics, and anatomical accuracy
- Develop blend shapes, clean topology, and optimized meshes for animation and gameplay use
- Create high-quality textures and perform UV unwrapping for character assets
- Design and implement PBR materials for characters in line with project standards
- Collaborate with level designers to ensure character integration within environments
- Work with technical artists to define shaders, tools, and pipeline improvements
- Identify artistic requirements and contribute to maintaining visual quality targets
- 5+ years of experience in the video game industry as a character artist
- Strong proficiency with Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Marvelous Designer
- Experience working with Unreal Engine 5 and Unity
- Strong understanding of human and animal anatomy, movement, and proportion
- Solid knowledge of traditional drawing principles including light, color, form, and perspective
- Good understanding of PBR workflows and real-time rendering constraints
- Ability to communicate clearly and translate complex ideas into understandable concepts
- Strong autonomy, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines effectively
- Adaptability to different artistic directions and visual styles
- Familiarity with Substance Designer, shader construction, rigging, and animation is a plus
