This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Time Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - FE/Endpoint Services /Customer Support Directorate.
Performs tests and troubleshoots network systems supported by the section or branch.
Responsible for a variety of local area data network related tasks in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency Network (DoDNET).
Applies and maintains the configuration of standard DoDNET hardware and operating system software.
Performs configuration management for all DoDNET hardware and software worldwide. Performs systems and security optimization according to Vulnerability Management System (VMS), JTF-GNO, and the DISC Security Office.
Writes network/system, program, operations, implementation, and user documentation using accepted creative and technical writing techniques.
Reviews and studies software systems, programs, and packages developed by other organizations or commercial vendors for implementation on the DoDNET.
Provides assistance to Network Operations personnel for the resolution of difficult and complex network/system problems.
