Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Clerk, you will be the welcoming face and organizational hub of our clinic, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every patient.Every day, you will expertly manage patient registration and scheduling, efficiently process patient flow, address billing inquiries, and provide essential clerical support. You'll maintain strict confidentiality, handle financial transactions securely, and remain vigilant for any patient needs, all while contributing to a smooth, on-schedule operation.To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional organizational skills, a customer-centric approach, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive ability to manage a fast-paced environment while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and efficiency.
- Performs all aspects of chart maintenance which includes pulling and preparing charts for the following day and setting up new files as needed
- Schedules patient appointments which includes initial, recheck and pre-ops. Updates schedule changes and performs necessary rescheduling of patients and prints and distributes daily clinic schedule. Provides clerical support for outgoing and incoming referrals for patients as requested.
- Maintains medical records which includes requesting records as needed, filing and retrieving records, documents and correspondence in a timely manner
- Contacts and reschedules clients that have not shown up for their appointment via phone or letter, and gives chart to the Practitioner for follow up review
- Answers telephones which includes routing incoming calls, as appropriate, and documenting accurately telephone messages for clinicians
- Completes daily charge sheets using CDM/CPT-HCPCS crosswalk and verifying completion of charge sheets against charge posting daily report which includes obtaining necessary information from practitioners to accurately complete daily charge sheets

- Two years recent outpatient medical clinic clerical experience (may waive based on acombination of education/training)
