Supervisory Supply Management Specialist

The Chief Supply Management Specialist serves as the senior supply chain leader with multiple care sites and a large catchment area. They develop and integrate a comprehensive, forward-looking strategy that meets all logistical requirements across clinical, administrative, and operational functions. This role oversees planning, procurement, inventory management, distribution, transportation, and reconciliation of undelivered orders. This position serves as the Supervisory Supply Management Specialist responsible for the development and integration of a supply chain that ensures the logistical requirement of the VA Health Care Systems and supported catchment areas are met. Major duties and responsibilities include: Oversees, guides, manages and integrates supply chain operations across the organization; Plans and coordinates fiscal, acquisition, clinical and administrative operations; Establishes, monitors and manages the performance and measurement of logistics functions for all aspects of the supply chain; Conducts logistics audits, compliance reviews and program effectiveness/efficiency reviews; Manages all activities involved in the supply chain management to include sourcing, procurement and logistics management activities; Responsible for linking major business functions and processes within the organization into a cohesive and high performing business model; Forecast planning and budget execution for supplies, subsistence, durable medical equipment, medical gases, expendable/non-expendable and capital equipment, inventory management, warehouse operations, transportation and distribution; Leads and/or participates in regular meetings, ensuring logistics needs and requirements are being met; Performs other related duties as assigned.
