We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

The Ford Motor Credit Company team helps put people behind the wheels of great Ford and Lincoln vehicles. By partnering with dealerships, we provide financing, personalized service and professional expertise to thousands of dealers and millions of customers in over one hundred countries around the world.

In this position...
We are seeking an Associate Product Manager (APM) to support the product delivery, optimization, operational support, and fraud/risk mitigation of the FordPay Payment platform.

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of product management, payment operations, and risk management. You will work directly with the FordPay Operations, Risk, and Engineering teams to support global payment processing, facilitate merchant onboarding, manage processor relationships, and translate real-world transaction and fraud mitigation challenges into platform improvements. This is an incredible opportunity to develop deep subject matter expertise in global FinTech, payment gateways, risk assessment, fraud prevention, and digital checkout experiences.

What You’ll Do…
  • Product Delivery & Agile Execution: Work hands-on with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to write detailed payment features, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Participate actively in agile ceremonies, including daily standups, iteration planning, product demos, and retrospectives.
  • Fraud & Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with risk operations and security teams to monitor transaction risk, define fraud screening parameters, and optimize risk rules. Help implement and manage fraud prevention tools and protocols (e.g., 3D Secure / 3DS, transaction velocity limits, and risk scoring) to protect Ford and its customers from payment fraud while maintaining a low-friction checkout experience.
  • Payment Operations & Incident Management: Manage and maintain application support queues (e.g., IT Connect) and payment incident workflows. Monitor transaction success rates and collaborate closely with IT and Engineering to resolve payment processing issues, technical bugs, and transaction failures.
  • Merchant & Processor Enablement: Support new Ford merchant and product launches (e.g., FordPro, Accessories, Vehicle eCommerce). Provide subject matter expertise on eCommerce payment flows, payment processor account setup, wallet management, and payment support (including chargeback handling, fraud disputes, and representment workflows).
  • Requirements & Documentation: Translate merchant payment needs, fraud/risk requirements, and operational pain points into detailed platform capabilities. Write operations business requirements, release notes, and operational desk procedures to ensure seamless product launches.
  • Stakeholder & Partner Collaboration: Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal Ford merchants, risk analysts, third-party payment processors, and vendor teams. Help ensure all parties are aligned on payment platform roadmaps and operational deliverables.
  • Data & Transaction Tracking: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to payment platform uptime, transaction authorization rates, chargeback metrics, and fraud rates. Use data to identify opportunities for checkout optimization and payment friction reduction.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure the payment platform complies with global financial regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, PSD2 / Strong Customer Authentication), local payment laws, and the highest security standards to protect sensitive customer financial data.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
1 to 3 years of experience in a Product Management, Business Analyst, or FinTech/Payment operations role.
  • Foundational experience with agile methodologies and writing business requirements, user stories, or technical specifications.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and deliver results in a fast-paced, fluid environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex operational, systemic, or transactional issues.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

Even better, you may have...

  • Experience with eCommerce payment processing (credit cards, ACH, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other global alternative payment methods).
  • Familiarity with fraud prevention platforms, risk decision engines, chargeback dispute management, or 3D Secure (3DS) authentication flows.
  • Experience working directly with third-party payment gateways, acquirers, or processors (e.g., Adyen, Stripe, Chase, etc.).
  • Familiarity with payment operations, merchant onboarding, ledgering, or fraud mitigation workflows.
  • Experience using data and analytical tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Splunk) to build dashboards, track payment performance metrics, and identify transaction drop-off or fraudulent trends.
  • Experience working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional software design and development team.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing tight deadlines, and having collaborative conversations to influence positive outcomes.
