Position: Senior Brand Protection Manager

Department: Legal - Shared Services

Work Location: Plano, TX, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)

Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. For roles eligible for hybrid work, our standard schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Any updates to this model will be communicated in advance. Please note that hybrid eligibility and schedules may vary based on business needs and manager expectations.

What you will be doing:

The Senior Brand Protection Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Helen of Troy’s global brand protection strategy. This role will focus on identifying, mitigating, and enforcing against counterfeit, gray market, and infringing activities across online and offline channels. Working closely with Legal, Brand Teams, International Marketing, and third-party vendors, this individual will proactively protect the company’s intellectual property rights and brand integrity.

This position requires a strategic and operational leader with experience in anti-counterfeiting enforcement, digital marketplace monitoring, and cross-functional coordination.

Brand Protection Strategy & Program Management

  • Design, implement, and refine comprehensive global brand protection strategy aligned with company priorities.
  • Identify key risks across product lines, geographies, and distribution channels.
  • Develop and maintain enforcement protocols, escalation frameworks, and best practices.

Online Enforcement & Marketplace Monitoring

  • Managing monitoring and enforcement activities across eCommerce platforms (e.g., Amazon, Walmart Marketplace, eBay, Alibaba, social media).
  • Partner with IP AGC to implement takedown programs for counterfeit, knockoff, and unauthorized listings.
  • Coordinate with Brand Teams to use platform-specific brand protection tools (e.g., Amazon Brand Registry, etc.).
  • Analyze trends in online infringement and recommend proactive enforcement measures.

Vendor & Technology Management

  • Serve as primary liaison for external brand protection vendors (e.g., SIPI/Authentix, React, or similar providers).
  • Evaluate vendor performance and service levels to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Assess and recommend new tools, technologies, and vendors to improve enforcement capabilities.
  • Manage vendor budgets and contracts in collaboration with Legal and Brand Teams.

Legal Enforcement Support

  • Partner with internal and external counsel on IP enforcement activities.
  • Support the drafting, review, and issuance of cease-and-desist letters and other enforcement communications.
  • Assist in case development for litigation, investigations, or law enforcement referrals.
  • Support documentation and evidence collection processes for enforcement actions (e.g., test purchases, product authentication, etc.).
  • Work with customs and enforcement agencies where applicable.

Training & Awareness

  • Aid in developing internal training materials related to brand protection and IP enforcement.
  • Educate internal teams and external partners on risks of counterfeit and unauthorized sales.
  • Promote a culture of brand integrity and compliance.

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Strong working knowledge of Trademark, Copyright, and brand protection principles
  • Expertise in online enforcement tools and marketplace ecosystems
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in brand protection, IP enforcement, anti-counterfeiting, or related field
  • Experience managing online marketplace enforcement programs
  • Background working with third-party enforcement vendors (e.g., Authentix, React, or similar)
  • Familiarity with global IP enforcement and anti-counterfeiting practices
  • Experience in consumer products, retail, or eCommerce industries preferred
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (JD, Masters, or similar)
  • Experience working in-house within a global consumer brand (familiarity with beauty, wellness, or household product industries a plus, but any consumer segment)
  • Success in establishing/expanding brand protection programs at scale across multiple categories of products and/or regions.
