Accountabilities:
- Build and lead a new engineering team, creating an environment where engineers can deliver high-quality work and grow professionally.
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop engineers while establishing strong team processes and a culture of ownership.
- Partner with product management and cross-functional engineering teams to define priorities, influence architecture, and deliver product commitments.
- Provide technical leadership on distributed systems, workflow orchestration, deployment automation, and platform reliability.
- Drive engineering excellence across scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and operational reliability.
- Encourage the effective use of AI-powered tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity and innovation.
- Establish healthy delivery practices by tracking milestones, identifying blockers, and proactively improving execution processes.
- Support incident management activities and contribute to maintaining platform availability and reliability.
- Promote inclusive collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement within a remote-first engineering environment.
- Build alignment across teams and stakeholders while making thoughtful technical decisions in complex environments.
- Proven experience managing high-performing engineering teams with the ability to provide technical guidance and architectural leadership.
- Strong background in distributed systems, workflow execution, state management, and scalable software architecture.
- Experience building or leading teams focused on release automation, deployment platforms, continuous delivery, or developer infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes deployment patterns, GitOps practices, and progressive delivery strategies such as blue/green and canary deployments.
- Experience designing reliable enterprise systems using policy-based governance and event-driven architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to build teams from early stages, including hiring, defining processes, and establishing engineering culture.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to drive decisions across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience working in async-first, remote environments.
- Experience leading teams in globally distributed organizations with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
