Location: Lavonia, Georgia
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, Call and cover open shifts within your department.
Position Summary:
- The Nurse Manager is responsible for effectively managing the activities of the Emergency Services; supervises the clinical team leaders as they direct and coordinate the daily operations and development of staff. The Nurse Manager utilizes knowledge of nursing practice and applies the management principles of planning, organizing, directing and evaluating quality of nursing practice and patient care, as prescribed by professional standards. Coordinates educational classes to meet the annual competency requirement of the staff.
What the ED Manager will need:
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Maintains current Georgia professional nursing license.
- ACLS, BLS, PALS required. TNCC Preferred Instructor in each certification is preferred.
- Membership in a professional organization is preferred.
- Education: Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing, able to read and write English, Baccalaureate degree, master’s degree in nursing or business preferred. Certification in area of specialty preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three to five years Emergency Services experience, at least two, which were Supervisory experience. Demonstrates leadership ability with excellent performance ratings.
What the ED Manager will do:
Collects and analyzes data to plan staffing patterns/ schedules for unit with skilled personnel to meet patient care requirements on a 24-hour basis, as measured by, patient activity and productivity standards.
- Directs and assists with new staff orientation.
- Establishes and explains performance standards to employees; documents areas for needed employee improvement; assigns tasks considering employee development and improvement requirements.
- Assesses departmental processes for opportunities for improvement and greater patient safety.
