Position Summary
In your role as a GCS Chemical Equipment Engineer, you'll work with a talented team focused on comprehensively owning, commissioning, maintaining, and improving bulk and specialty chemical operations at Samsung Semiconductor.You'll provide support by interacting with the on-site operations/maintenance team for daily optimization and improvement of the chemical equipment. In addition, you will be coordinating with equipment vendors and various internal Samsung groups to ensure safe and efficient completion of operations tasks and projects.
Role and Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Senior chemical equipment engineer will provide technical expertise and ownership for chemical systems, safety and quality standards, and improvements for those systems. They will interact with the operations, maintenance, design and construction teams within Samsung as well as with the chemical equipment vendors to sustain and maintain equipment.
Troubleshoot emergent equipment issues and provide technical direction to resolve.
Drive continuous improvement projects to improve quality, reliability, safety, and cost savings through optimized process control and monitoring methods, and taking proactive steps to mitigate risks or points of equipment failure.
Work with maintenance teams to plan and execute preventative, time-based as well as breakdown maintenance to address equipment or component failures or for performance optimization.
Communicate and coordinate with Fab Engineering groups to provide technical support, supply and quality issue resolution, and collaboration for improved safety, quality, and system reliability.
Own the commissioning and startup of new equipment installations through design reviews, equipment inspections, functionality testing, pressure tests, DIW and chemical qualifications, and any code/compliance or design issue resolution.
Evaluating future scenario planning including infrastructure budget and schedule forecasting, utilization and capacity data analysis, and reporting.
Mentor and coach junior engineers in the team to support their technical development
Support MOCs, PHAs and FMEAs for PSM and RMP covered chemical processes.
Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
Minimum bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or related technical field.
7+ years of relevant operations experience related to semiconductors, oil & gas or chemical manufacturing.
Preferred: Semiconductor gas and chemical facilities, oil & gas or chemical industry operations, with an emphasis on safety and hazardous process materials.
Knowledge and Skills: MS Office, AutoCAD, Piping & Instrumentation Drawings, Process Flow Drawings, Understanding of PSM-RMP, Chemical Engineering Concepts related to industrial applications, Mechanical Engineering Concepts related to industrial applications, Process safety, Process controls, Equipment troubleshooting, Data analysis, Data trending and monitoring, Process monitoring systems (SCADA or DCS), Communication, Teamwork, Motivated, Self-starter, Collaboration, Analytical, Problem-solver.
The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000- $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
