Job Description
Our team’s primary product: an AI harness that helps GIU partners build, integrate, and deliver AI- powered application experiences. The platform provides reusable tooling, services, and patterns that make AI adoption easier while supporting enterprise expectations for quality, reliability, security, and maintainability.
As a Principal Platform Software Engineer, you will play a major role in designing and implementing Nitro’s core platform capabilities. You will work closely with architects, product leaders, and partner engineering teams to turn AI application needs into practical, production-ready platform features.
This role requires strong platform engineering experience, sound technical judgment, and hands-on familiarity with modern AI and LLM application patterns. You will contribute to architecture, lead implementation of complex features, mentor engineers, and help establish reusable standards for building AI-enabled applications across GIU.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical owner who can operate independently, collaborate across teams, and balance rapid AI innovation with durable engineering practices.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain key platform capabilities for AI-assisted application development. Implement scalable and reliable services, APIs, SDKs, and integration patterns for GIU partner teams. Contribute to AI harness capabilities including LLM integration, prompt workflows, evaluation support, agentic patterns, and reusable AI components. Partner with architects and senior engineers to shape technical designs and ensure alignment with Nitro’s platform direction. Work with GIU partner teams to understand use cases, remove adoption friction, and deliver reusable platform solutions. Apply strong engineering practices around testing, observability, performance, security, CI/CD, and operational readiness. Lead complex feature development from design through delivery, including technical documentation and production support. Mentor engineers on platform engineering, AI application development, code quality, and maintainable design. Evaluate emerging AI technologies and developer tooling for practical use within our platform. Help improve engineering standards, implementation patterns, and developer experience across the platform.
