Accountabilities

    This role is responsible for leading the development and execution of startup and preoperational testing programs for complex nuclear systems, ensuring safe and compliant plant readiness.

    • Develop comprehensive preoperational and startup testing roadmaps, including phases, milestones, success criteria, and resource planning.
    • Write detailed test specifications and procedures covering mechanical, electrical, control, instrumentation, and safety systems.
    • Lead cross-functional engineering teams in the planning and execution of testing activities aligned with project schedules and priorities.
    • Coordinate task assignments, provide technical guidance, and support mentoring and development of junior engineers.
    • Ensure all testing activities comply with nuclear industry codes, standards, safety requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
    • Monitor testing progress, identify risks, and provide structured reporting on status, resource needs, and schedule impacts.
    • Participate in client interactions and site visits to support coordination and technical alignment.
    • Requirements

      This position requires strong engineering expertise in power plant systems, combined with hands-on experience in commissioning, testing, and startup environments.

      • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
      • 5–8+ years of experience in commissioning, startup, testing, or operations support in nuclear or highly regulated energy environments.
      • Strong understanding of nuclear plant systems and how mechanical, electrical, and control systems are commissioned and validated.
      • Proven experience developing test plans, procedures, and commissioning documentation for complex systems.
      • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and coordinate cross-functional engineering activities.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and implement corrective actions.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including procedural and technical documentation development.
      • Familiarity with project management tools, scheduling practices, and document control systems (e.g., MS Project, P6).
      • Preferred: PE certification, experience in nuclear startup/commissioning, regulatory compliance exposure, and QA/QC familiarity.
      • Strong attention to detail, safety mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities in high-stakes environments.
