Not RequiredThe ARINC GLOBAL Network (AGN) system is comprised of several private data centers and connects to the far reaches of the globe, in almost every country providing aviation, airport, government, and transportation connectivity. AGN provides private networking in a highly reliable, secure and available world-wide network architecture for Collins Aerospace IMS mission critical aviation, transportation, and airports customers.
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the AGN Network Engineering team responsible for and engaging in the design, development, testing and evaluation of network communication technologies products and solutions in support of the ARINC Global Network. Candidate must be familiar with networking concepts and technologies, including routing, switching, and cloud based technologies, as well as be able to plan and configure network communications systems based on Cisco platforms. Candidate must be highly motivated, able to work in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical member on projects that contain moderate to highly complex environments, utilizing high availability concepts.
- Develop and implement project plans within budgetary, schedule and resource constraints.
- Collaborate with other members of the Engineering team in the development of technical design solutions.
- Capture, analyze, decompose and create requirements for network systems, products and subsystems of moderate complexity.
- Use an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on customer needs and business requirements, to design, develop, document, test and maintain network systems ranging from the straightforward to moderately complex.
- Author, review and maintain documentation during all phases of the system design life cycle as appropriate and specified within documented process and procedure (Project Plans, Estimates, Requirements Documentation, Operational Scenarios, Design Documentation and Drawings, Sys Acceptance Test Plans, etc…).
- Apply Security/Cybersecurity methodologies to network and systems design to provide secure services that support business requirements.
- Configuration and installation various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, ACL).
- Provide post-fielding support, resolving operational issues involving L2 and L3, in a multi-routing network infrastructure
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- 3–5 years’ experience supporting and implementing Cisco-based network infrastructures, including routers, switches, firewalls, and LAN/WAN environments; demonstrated ability to deliver networks with 99.9%+ uptime and low-latency performance requirements.
- Proven ability to analyze, design, and document technical solutions, using appropriate diagrams and artifacts; consistently communicates technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated proficiency with IP networking fundamentals, including IPv4/IPv6, subnetting/VLSM, TCP/UDP, OSI model, VLANs, STP, trunking (802.1Q), routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), VPN technologies (IPSec, DMVPN), and GRE tunneling.
- Hands-on experience conducting end-to-end troubleshooting across layers 1–3, including fiber/copper standards (SM/MM, SFP/QSFP, CAT5–7), packet analysis using Wireshark/TCPDUMP, and configuring SPAN/monitor sessions.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- 3–5 years of experience with configuration management and automation workflows, including the use of Ansible and adherence to formal configuration control processes in production environments.
- Demonstrated ability to support end‑to‑end project lifecycles, contributing to requirements definition, design documentation, testing, deployment, and post‑implementation support.
- Hands-on experience designing and supporting VoIP/SIP-based solutions, including configuring SIP trunks and implementing QoS policies to optimize voice performance.
- Proven ability to lead and facilitate technical discussions proactively, collaborating with engineering, operations, and vendor teams to drive decisions and resolve issues efficiently.
- Broad exposure to enterprise network and infrastructure technologies across multiple environments, with 5+ years total network engineering/design experience, and industry-specific knowledge in the airport/air transport domain considered a plus.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
