Lead Geotechnical Engineer
We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Geotechnical Engineer to join our Civil Infrastructure business group. This role will play a key part in leading the delivery of complex projects across a range of sectors, providing technical leadership, design oversight, and mentorship to geotechnical engineers. You will be responsible for driving technical excellence, supporting business growth, and ensuring the successful delivery of geotechnical solutions that meet client, project, and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee geotechnical investigations, including planning, supervision, interpretation, and reporting of field and laboratory programs.
- Provide technical leadership for geotechnical and geostructural design involving foundations, retaining structures, deep excavations, earthworks, slopes, soil-structure interaction, underground structures, pavement subgrades, and ground improvement systems.
- Review and approve geotechnical reports, design calculations, and engineering deliverables.
- Act as the lead geotechnical advisor throughout project lifecycles, from concept design through construction support.
- Provide technical review and approval of geotechnical analyses, calculations, modelling, and design deliverables.
- Act as the primary technical interface with clients on major geotechnical and geostructural projects.
- Lead technical risk assessments and develop practical, constructible, and cost-effective geotechnical solutions.
- Support business development activities including proposal preparation, methodology development, fee estimation, and client engagement.
- Lead and develop a team of geotechnical engineers and designers, providing day-to-day technical direction, coaching, and project oversight.
- Collaborate with project managers, technical leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Provide technical governance and ensure delivery of projects to quality, programme, and budget requirements.
What You Will Bring to the Team
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Typically 10–15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience within consulting, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Advanced experience with finite element and geostructural analysis software such as PLAXIS 2D/3D, RS2, GeoStudio, WALLAP, LPILE, FLAC, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of relevant local and international standards such as DPWH, NSCP, AASHTO, ASTM, FAA, or equivalent.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary geotechnical project teams and managing project delivery with minimal oversight.
- Strong technical expertise in geotechnical and geostructural engineering, including design, assessment, and review of foundations, retaining structures, deep excavations, earthworks, ground improvement, and infrastructure projects across transportation, aviation, water, and energy sectors.
- Proven experience providing technical leadership, governance, and design review within multidisciplinary project environments.
- Excellent technical report writing, stakeholder engagement, and client relationship management skills.
- A proven ability to mentor engineers, build technical capability, and foster a high-performing team culture.
