Who we are?

Silverfin is a cutting-edge cloud software solution built by accountants, for accountants.

Founded in 2013, Silverfin was created to solve the frustrations of manual, error-prone processes in analysing financial data and compliance. From day one, we’ve been a cloud-first platform with an open API architecture, leveraging structured data to transform how accountants work.

Our mission is simple: to enhance and support the accountancy profession through AI and automation, ensuring accountants remain relevant and respected in the future of finance.

In 2023, Silverfin became part of the Visma Group, joining one of Europe’s leading providers of cloud software. This partnership strengthens our ability to innovate and expand our impact within the accountancy industry.

Today, Silverfin is trusted by over 1000+ firms across 19 countries. Our clients include all of the Big 4 accounting firms, as well as leading global networks like BDO, PKF, Baker Tilly, Grant Thornton, and Moore.

Headquartered in Ghent, with offices in London, Luxembourg, Gouda (NL), and a 2nd office in South of Belgium (Mont-Saint-Guibert), we’re a team of over 200 people - including a diverse remote engineering team working across multiple time zones - all working together to drive innovation in accounting.

How would you support our success?

Your role

Our mission is still standing strong, and we've made a bet on where the work is heading. An accountant won't click through screens to gather data, fill it in and assemble an answer. They’ll expect it to be done already or to be able to just ask for it. "I'm meeting this client tomorrow, help me prepare." "If the current numbers hold to year-end, how much should they prepay next quarter? Draft them the message." "What's the most this business can pay out in dividends? Prepare the distribution tests for me to discuss with the customer."

Everyone will have agents that attempt to get those answers. The scarce thing (and the bet) is whether the answer is one an accountant can put their name under. Our compliance engine is what makes it so. While agents play a big role in getting to compliance deliverables, there’s a deterministic, controlled and auditable core.

Getting those insights into the hands of the accountant and their clients is your team's mission. Agents are where this is heading, not the whole of it: most of the moments you'll own exist today, and they matter now.

What would you do to drive our success?

Your responsibilities

The territory: every touchpoint where an accounting firm's work reaches its client: data visualisation, exports, the client conversations, the thread between meetings, and, increasingly, the agents on top of all of it. A lot of what worked well yesterday needs to be questioned. You own the experience of the end client on the other side of those moments: the person our customer serves.

What you're walking into: there is a foundation to build on but there’s plenty of opportunities remaining to be discovered and delivered on. Our customers want us to keep focus on this, so you'll need to iterate and keep the pace high, while keeping the outcome in the center of the decisions you make. Sales, CS and marketing are partners who bring you signals and carry your story to the market, not gatekeepers between you and your users.

A typical week: two or three calls with users. Some testing and discussing of a prototype the designer built. A trade-off session with your engineers about scope and implementation. A look at what the last release actually changed in the numbers. An hour prototyping with AI to pressure-test and visualise an idea before bringing it to the team. And somewhere in there, telling the rest of Silverfin what you did and learned, because if they can’t retell it, it didn’t happen.

What would success look like?

Your performance & accountability

  • Customer value at pace. This is the one thing you care about most, you want to keep a team focused and moving at pace. You have the spine to say no to protect the one or two things that matter from the dozen that don't.

  • Discovery rigour. You're in front of real users constantly to learn and validate what you’re doing (Teresa Torres' continuous discovery habits are our foundation). You kill the ideas that don't survive contact with users as readily as you ship the ones that do. You look for the pattern behind ten requests rather than shipping ten fixes.

  • You inspire. People across the organisation understand what you’re doing and why. You set people up for success when telling customers about this cool thing Silverfin is doing, and you’re not too shy to go to customer events and be in front of an audience occasionally.

What will support your success?

How we work

  • We’re impatient, on purpose. We’d rather put a rough version in front of a user this week than a polished one next month. If your instinct is to de-risk everything before showing it, we’ll clash; if your instinct is to learn in public, we’ll get along.

  • AI is a daily tool. We prototype with it, test with it, and expect you to. You don’t need to do everything yourself, but “I’ll wait for the team to prototype this” is the wrong reflex here.

  • Product carries real weight in the team. Day to day you work with a product designer and four to five engineers. You, the designer, and the engineering lead form the trio that makes the calls, and within it, they look to product to drive direction.

  • Strategy grows from the ground up. Direction isn’t a finished vision cascading down, teams closest to users keep shaping a large share of it.

Who you are

The ground under this role will evolve quickly. The agentic shift means the territory you own today won't be the territory next year. Some of what you build will be questioned, merged, or reinvented. If you need a stable lane to do your best work, this will frustrate you. If redrawing the map is a part you enjoy, you'll thrive.

You don't need to have been a PM before. If you've spent years across the table from business owners and found yourself redesigning the workflow instead of just running it: questioning why the work is done this way, prototyping your own fixes, dragging your firm toward better tools… that instinct is what we're hiring. We'll teach you the craft: you'll work daily with a strong product designer, learn continuous discovery inside a team that already practices it, get coaching from product leadership, and have budget for training. What we can't teach is the judgment that comes from sitting with real clients. That's the part you bring.

For an accountant or finance professional, this is the rare career move that isn’t an exit from the profession. You stay close to the industry: in front of accountants weekly, part of the conversation about where the work goes next. Your domain knowledge doesn’t expire when you switch. It becomes the thing that lets you change how firms across twenty markets work.

You're AI-native in your own work. You reach for AI by default: to draft, to analyse, to prototype. And because the capabilities keep moving, you keep re-testing them. What it couldn't do last quarter it might do now: you're the person who notices quickly and changes their opinion.

Languages – You can work fully in English, our working language. Dutch is a strong plus: many of the client conversations in this territory happen in it.
