Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end platform solutions primarily using Ruby on Rails, covering user experiences, backend services, integrations, and internal tooling.
- Define and drive the technical vision for platform initiatives, including architecture decisions, experimentation capabilities, and long-term scalability improvements.
- Improve platform reliability through enhanced monitoring, instrumentation, observability, testing practices, and operational processes.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
- Build and optimize workflows that improve usability, reduce friction, and enable teams to confidently leverage the platform.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture guidance, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering best practices.
- Lead complex initiatives by breaking down ambiguous problems, aligning stakeholders, and driving execution from concept to delivery.
- Collaborate across the technology stack, including frontend experiences, backend systems, databases, APIs, and internal integrations.
- Support the adoption of AI-powered development tools and encourage responsible, effective engineering workflows.
- 10+ years of experience building and scaling complex software products with demonstrated Staff-level engineering impact.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and architecting production Ruby on Rails applications.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and backend system design.
- Proven ability to influence technical direction, lead through ambiguity, and deliver high-impact engineering initiatives.
- Experience building internal platforms, stakeholder-facing tools, or customer-oriented product experiences.
- Strong product mindset with the ability to balance user experience, reliability, experimentation, and technical constraints.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, design, and business teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers and helping teams improve technical capabilities and processes.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools and modern development workflows.
- Preferred experience with cybersecurity, external APIs, REST integrations, authentication systems, analytics workflows, or technologies such as ClickHouse, Redis, Elasticsearch, or MongoDB.

- Competitive compensation range of $200,000 - $220,000 USD base salary, plus bonus and equity opportunities.
