Department Overview
Canadian Technology Shared Services & Delivery (CTSSD) supports enterprise platforms and shared services that enable technology teams across TD to operate securely, efficiently, and at scale.
Job Accountabilities – What You'll Do
As part of the CTSSD team, you will help lead the evolution of TD's Jira and Jira Service Management (JSM) platforms, driving cloud transformation, enhancing developer productivity, and delivering secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that support enterprise modernization and operational excellence.
- Lead the Atlassian Cloud transformation strategy, driving Jira platform modernization, migration planning and execution, customization rationalization, integration readiness, stakeholder alignment, and operational adoption across enterprise technology teams
- Drive platform innovation through proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives, assessing new Jira/JSM capabilities, integrations, automation opportunities, and cloud-native solutions to improve scalability, efficiency, and user experience
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, React, Spring Boot, and Spring Security
- Drive modernization efforts (upgrades, performance optimization, best practices)
- Build and support secure integrations leveraging OAuth, LDAP, REST APIs, and enterprise authentication frameworks
- Analyze existing applications, automation scripts, and system integrations to identify issues and implement enhancements
- Participate in application architecture and solution design to ensure scalability, maintainability, and security
- Maintain and support Jira customizations, including ScriptRunner (Groovy), REST endpoints, shell scripts, and CLI-based automation
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation initiatives, and development best practices
- Ensure compliance with change management, documentation, traceability, and operational standards
- Conduct code/design reviews and enforce development standards
- Mentor developers and provide technical leadership
- Support high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and resiliency initiatives across enterprise platforms
Where You'll Work
You'll work closely with application development, platform engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver and support enterprise-scale solutions. You’ll be expected to work primarily onsite at a TD location for meetings, team events and experiences. The hiring manager will provide additional details regarding team-specific work arrangements and expectations.
Job Requirements – What You Need to Succeed
- 8+ years of front-end software development experience with Java, React, Spring Boot, and Spring Security
- Strong understanding of OAuth, LDAP, authentication, and authorization frameworks
- Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and secure enterprise applications and integrations
- Hands-on experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux environments
- Experience developing and maintaining ScriptRunner (Groovy) customizations and automation solutions
- Strong understanding of application architecture, system design, and software design patterns
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and enhance existing applications, scripts, and integrations
- Experience supporting production systems and resolving complex technical issues
- Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and system resiliency principles
- Experience working with REST APIs and enterprise integrations
- Strong documentation, traceability, and change management practices
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience working within Agile software development environments
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Understanding of Linux infrastructure, networking fundamentals, load balancers, DNS, SSL/TLS, and firewall configurations
- Experience with Jira Administration (Data Center and/or Cloud), including workflows, schemes, permissions, custom fields, screens, and automation
- Familiarity with enterprise DevOps, platform engineering, and application modernization initiatives
