What this job involves:
As an Assistant Facility Manager at JLL, you'll play a vital role in supporting comprehensive facility operations and helping to create exceptional workplace experiences for building occupants and clients. Working closely with the Facility Manager, you'll handle day-to-day operational responsibilities including coordinating maintenance activities, managing work orders, supervising on-site staff, and serving as a key point of contact for tenant and client requests. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Coordinate daily facility operations by managing work order systems, prioritizing maintenance requests, and ensuring timely resolution of tenant and client issues
- Conduct regular building inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and compliance concerns while documenting findings and initiating corrective actions
- Supervise and provide guidance to maintenance technicians, custodial staff, and other on-site team members to ensure quality service delivery
- Assist with vendor and contractor management including scheduling service calls, overseeing work quality, and verifying invoice accuracy
- Support budget administration by tracking expenses, processing invoices, monitoring purchase orders, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Respond to emergency situations and after-hours calls, coordinating appropriate resources and communicating updates to stakeholders
- Maintain accurate facility documentation including maintenance logs, inspection reports, equipment records, and compliance certifications
- Assist with space planning activities, coordinate moves and reconfigurations, and support small-scale improvement projects
- Help implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to ensure building systems operate efficiently and reliably
Required qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in facility management, building operations, property management, or related field
- Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing demands
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach
- Basic understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and facility management best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Flexibility to respond to after-hours emergencies and occasional weekend work as needed
Preferred qualifications:
- Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification or actively pursuing professional credentials
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or integrated workplace management systems (IWMS)
- Background in corporate office environments, commercial properties, or institutional facilities
- Basic project coordination experience including tracking timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy management principles
- Experience supervising or leading small teams in an operational environment

Estimated compensation for this position:
71,900.00 – 71,900.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
