Description
Minimum qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience leading the planning and execution of medium to large scale events, including vendor management, cross-functional stakeholder coordination, and the design of engaging event experiences.
- Up to 40% travel as needed

- Relationship Management with internal and external stakeholders and vendor management
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
- Ability to do frequent pulling and pushing of carts and cases, up to 60 pounds
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to work occasional long days, evenings, weekends and holidays for an event
- Ability to work occasional long days of walking and standing with set up and break down of United assets at events
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrates an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and effectively leverages them to support research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving. Apply critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs while adhering to organizational policies for responsible AI use, data privacy, and security.
- Experience managing multiple, complex events simultaneously
- Competency with Microsoft 365 products
- Experience with large scale hiring events and industry talent conferences
- Experience with project management tools like Asana or Hive and event planning tools like Cvent

About the job:
The Senior Specialist leads the strategy, planning, and execution of medium to large scale enterprise events that support United’s talent acquisition, recruiting, employer brand, and employee engagement goals. This role independently manages complex event initiatives, including recruiting events, aviation conferences, leadership engagements, and external partner activations that showcase United’s unique culture and help attract top talent to the company. Working cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, business leaders, internal stakeholders, and external partners, the Senior Specialist serves as a trusted project manager and resource, builds strong relationships, drives innovative event strategies, and delivers measurable outcomes that advance enterprise recruiting priorities and business objectives.
Core accountabilities / Key responsibilities:
- Manage planning, and execution of talent organization hiring conferences to deliver high impact experiences to the aviation talent community
- Manage tradeshows including booth design, inventory management, external partners and vendors
- Manage full cycle of event including end to end event planning, logistics, and execution
- Lead others to solve complex event and engagement challenges, managing multiple planning workstreams and escalating risks and resource requirements
- Manage event budgets and ensures high impact experiences
- Manage multiple, complex events simultaneously
- Design event content and supporting materials that create cohesive, high-impact experiences and strengthen United’s brand awareness at events
- Proficiency in project management and event management tools
Note: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement including approximately 50% of the time spent working onsite at our Chicago office location and 50% remotely when not traveling.
The base pay range for this role is $81,795.00 to $106,602.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
