About the Role
We are seeking an experienced leader to join our leadership team in Sri Lanka and drive the next phase of growth of merchant partnerships with accountability for commercial outcomes across both Uber Eats’ restaurant and retail business. In this role you will develop and execute a strategic vision for the commercial organisation that is bold in its ambition, tailored to the local landscape and continues to set the benchmark for food delivery in Sri Lanka.
The Head of Merchant will lead a high performing team managing global, enterprise and SMB brands and will have a proven track record leading and developing talent in a dynamic environment. Our ideal candidate will bring together a strong commercial, operational and stakeholder management skillset to deliver on both local and global priorities within a complex cross-functional organisation.
What You’ll Do
- Merchant strategy and execution: Develop and lead the execution of Uber Eats strategy across the entire merchant partner lifecycle driving top line growth, profitability and best in class operations.
- Commercial partnerships: Establishing strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Sri Lanka’s largest restaurant brands to deliver successful partnership outcomes.
- Operational excellence: accountable for delivering Uber Eats merchant operational outcomes driving merchant lifecycle, reliability and quality with the support of operational teams.
- Leadership: Lead a large team of high performing account managers delivering growth for global brands and local SMBs across Sri Lanka.
What you will need
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in sales, account management and/or other commercial roles.
- Strong track record of leading large commercial teams to deliver on business priorities over a period of 5+ years.
- Demonstrated experience coaching, developing and motivating talent in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- High energy and motivational leadership that supports the team to navigate ambiguity and change.
- Experience translating global and regional priorities into local context and working with a broad group of stakeholders to execute on commercial and operational priorities.
- Strong technical foundation with a bachelors in business / finance / related field required as a minimum. A post-graduate degree (e.g.: MBA) and / or professional qualifications will be a bonus.
- Relevant experience working across the hospitality / FMCG / tech space is a plus.
