Accountabilities:

    The ITSM CMDB Administrator will own the strategy, governance, and ongoing improvement of configuration management processes while ensuring high-quality data and effective collaboration across technical teams. Key responsibilities include:

    • Serve as the CMDB Owner and subject matter expert, driving governance, health, accuracy, completeness, and continual improvement of configuration items and relationships.
    • Lead CMDB-related initiatives by partnering with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to deliver effective solutions.
    • Design, implement, and maintain automated discovery, data collection, reconciliation, and maintenance processes using APIs, integrations, AI capabilities, and custom solutions.
    • Identify data quality gaps and implement scalable improvements to increase CMDB maturity and reliability.
    • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, network, asset management, and service management teams to maintain accurate service and configuration relationships.
    • Develop and support ITSM applications, integrations, workflows, and automation with external enterprise systems.
    • Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead resolution efforts related to CMDB technologies and supporting platforms.
    • Create and maintain documentation, standards, procedures, and governance frameworks to support operational excellence.
    • Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to teams on CMDB best practices and configuration management processes.
    • Monitor emerging ITSM trends, AI technologies, and industry practices to continuously improve capabilities.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in configuration management, ITSM platforms, and enterprise integrations, combined with excellent communication and leadership abilities. Required qualifications include:

      • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and governing CMDB environments, preferably with ServiceNow and/or Device42.
      • Strong knowledge of CMDB architecture, data modeling, CI relationships, service mapping, discovery, and configuration management best practices.
      • Proven experience with Device42 discovery, dependency mapping, infrastructure inventory management, and CMDB data reconciliation.
      • Experience integrating CMDB data across ServiceNow, Device42, asset management platforms, cloud environments, and enterprise systems.
      • Solid understanding of ITIL practices, particularly Configuration Management, Incident Management, Change Management, and Asset Management.
      • Experience designing and implementing CMDB integrations, APIs, automation solutions, and data quality controls.
      • Familiarity with AI technologies such as Generative AI, predictive analytics, intelligent automation, or AI agents is highly desirable.
      • Ability to independently manage complex initiatives, influence stakeholders, and deliver results with limited supervision.
      • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical teams, business users, and executive stakeholders.
      • Strong collaboration, relationship-building, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and technical documentation platforms.
      • High level of professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
