Join Intel as a Development Tools Software Engineering Intern and play a key role in empowering developers and engineers to innovate on Intel platforms. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of cutting-edge tools-compilers, debuggers, profilers, and build systems-critical to engineering workflows and developer productivity.

Your work will have a direct impact on improving code quality, optimizing workflows, and creating scalable solutions that align with Intel's evolving platform needs.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the design, development, and integration of software tools such as compilers, debuggers, and profilers.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and product teams to ensure tool chains meet platform requirements and developer needs.
  • Performance analysis, debugging, and feature enhancement to optimize developer productivity and code quality.
  • Contributes to the creation, evaluation, and maintenance of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Apply knowledge of programming languages and scripting to solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Support technical requirement definition, design processes, and disciplined execution in software engineering projects.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.

  • Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (at least 1 year remaining as an active student).

  • 6+ months of experience in:
    • programming in one or more languages such as Python.
    • CI/CD processes and practices.
    • object-oriented software design principles.
    • software debugging techniques.
    • Academic experience or coursework in relevant areas such as scripting, software development, or performance analysis.

  • Advanced English level.

Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (this role is not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship).

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

  • Exposure to hardware design reviews in the context of software engineering.
  • Familiarity with technical requirement definition and design methodologies.
  • Interest in contributing to collaborative and cross-functional teams.
