Mine Supervisor
Upstate New York | Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | On-Site
Reports to: General Manager
Turner Staffing Group is partnering with our client, an established mining company based in New York, to find an experienced Mine Supervisor to lead day-to-day underground mining operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in running a safe, efficient, and well-organized operation, and who wants real ownership over production, safety, and team performance.
What You'll Do
Operations & Production

● Plan and schedule ore extraction, waste removal, and preventive maintenance to keep pace with mill demand.
● Coordinate trucking and mine-mill activities to keep production flowing smoothly.
● Direct underground blasting and maintain accurate records of explosives usage.
● Oversee maintenance of drilling, hauling, loading, and crushing equipment.
Safety & Compliance
● Maintain and champion a strong safety program, training personnel on safe work practices.
● Perform regular site inspections and assess the safety of sidewalls, drifts, pillars, and benches.
● Ensure sound housekeeping practices throughout the mine site.
Team Leadership & Reporting
● Train and develop hourly personnel, building a skilled and reliable crew.
● Maintain production, maintenance, and time-distribution records, and prepare monthly operational reports.
● Provide payroll data and support Collective Bargaining Agreement activities.
● Investigate and recommend new mining procedures, equipment, and alternate ore sources to improve efficiency.
● Report regularly to the General Manager on department performance, condition, and findings.
What You Bring
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● 3-5 years of experience in a similar mining operation, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
● New York State DOL Blasting License is a plus.
● Strong working knowledge of mine safety, production planning, and equipment maintenance.
● A proactive, hands-on leadership style with sound judgment for day-to-day and emergency decisions.
● Comfort working both underground and on the surface in a physically active, industrial environment.
Why This Role
● Step into a role with real autonomy - routine decisions are trusted to you, not micromanaged.
● Play a key part in shaping mine planning, safety culture, and operational efficiency.
● Work daily alongside the General Manager and a dedicated production team.
● Join a stable, established operation with room to make your mark.
