Accountabilities:

    The Workday HCM Principal Consultant will provide expert consulting services across Workday HCM engagements, supporting clients through implementations, post-production optimization, and ongoing improvements. The role requires ownership of solution delivery, strong client relationships, and the ability to translate business requirements into effective Workday configurations and recommendations.

    • Deliver consulting services across multiple Workday client engagements with limited supervision.
    • Analyze client business requirements and provide guidance throughout solution design, configuration, prototyping, testing, and production deployment.
    • Support Workday HCM implementations, including Core HCM and additional modules such as Learning, Benefits, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, Reporting, and People Experience.
    • Assist clients with post-go-live support, troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Support annual Workday business events, including talent cycles, performance reviews, merit processes, open enrollment, and compliance-related activities.
    • Partner with engagement leadership to communicate project progress, risks, changes, and delivery updates.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain alignment across client initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate project forecasting and operational reporting.
    • Support business development activities by serving as a Workday subject matter expert during sales presentations, demonstrations, and solution discussions.
    • Stay current on Workday releases, industry trends, and platform best practices to provide strategic recommendations.
    • Build trusted relationships with clients through strong communication, expertise, and exceptional service delivery.
    • Contribute to the continued development and innovation of the Workday consulting practice.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate brings extensive Workday HCM consulting experience, strong functional expertise, and proven success leading enterprise implementations. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage complex priorities, and provide strategic guidance to clients.

      • Active Workday certifications with implementer access required for Workday HCM Core and at least one additional HCM module, including Learning, Benefits, Core Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, Reporting, or People Experience.
      • Experience independently leading at least two Workday Phase 1 implementations and two Workday Phase X implementations.
      • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Lead Workday HCM Consultant within a Workday partner environment.
      • Experience troubleshooting, configuring, and navigating Workday HCM solutions.
      • Experience supporting higher education projects is preferred.
      • Ability to obtain and maintain required Workday Launch certification.
      • Workday partner certifications must remain active throughout employment.
      • Strong understanding of Workday HCM processes, configuration options, and implementation best practices.
      • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders.
      • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team-oriented environment.
      • Strategic mindset with the ability to recommend innovative solutions and improvements.
