What this opportunity involves:

As a Facilities Manager overseeing a diverse healthcare property portfolio, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety, compliance, and security programs while ensuring strict adherence to healthcare facility regulations and building codes. You will manage all aspects of facility operations including contractor performance, preventative and corrective maintenance programs using JLL's Prism system, and capital works projects with a strategic 5-year perspective. Your role encompasses complete budget oversight for both operational and capital expenditure, rigorous financial controls including purchase order and accounts payable processes, and identification of cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality. You will serve as the primary point of contact for tenant maintenance requests and client relations, ensuring prompt resolution of issues while minimizing disruption to critical healthcare operations. This position requires strong leadership in managing emergency responses, coordinating with security contractors and local emergency services, maintaining detailed incident reporting in accordance with JLL protocols, and providing regular operational reports and KPI analysis to senior management. With on-call responsibilities for urgent and emergency situations, you will drive continuous improvement across the portfolio while maintaining the highest standards of safety, tenant satisfaction, and operational excellence in these specialized healthcare environments.

An overview of the role:

  • Safety, Compliance & Security - Develop and maintain comprehensive safety and compliance programs across all portfolio properties, ensuring adherence to healthcare facility regulations, building codes, and infection control standards. Conduct risk assessments, oversee emergency preparedness procedures, coordinate statutory compliance testing, and manage security protocols in partnership with contractors. Maintain JLL's incident reporting standards and provide regular briefings on mitigation strategies.
  • Contractor & Vendor Management - Oversee all service contractors including cleaners, landscapers, HVAC, fire, security, and medical equipment maintenance providers. Establish and monitor contractor KPIs, ensure Cm3 prequalification compliance, manage contractor inductions and safety briefings, and coordinate activities to minimize disruption to healthcare operations.
  • Financial Management - Manage operational and capital expenditure (CAPEX) budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and recoverable maintenance expenditure. Implement rigorous financial controls, oversee accounts payable processes, ensure purchase order compliance, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality standards.
  • Capital Works & Strategic Planning - Coordinate capital works programs with asset management and procurement teams, identifying and planning projects with a 5-year perspective. Assist with tendering processes, oversee timely project delivery, manage stakeholder communications, and ensure minimal operational disruption during execution.
  • Facilities & Maintenance Operations - Oversee all preventative and corrective maintenance programs using JLL's Prism system across the portfolio. Manage critical building systems (HVAC, electrical, hydraulic, fire, life safety), coordinate reactive maintenance requests, maintain equipment certifications, and optimize building management systems (BMS) performance.
  • Stakeholder Relations & Reporting - Serve as primary point of contact for tenant maintenance requests and client relations, ensuring prompt issue resolution and high customer service standards. Prepare regular operational reports, monitor and report on KPIs, maintain asset registers, analyze performance data, and support procurement and contract tendering processes. Provide on-call availability for after-hours emergency situations.
