Business Analyst Department: Product Management Employment Type: Full Time Location: Remote (select US states) Compensation: $71,400 - $76,500 / year Description We are looking for a customer- and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our growing digital services team within our Product Management practice at Coforma. In this role, you’ll work on an established agile project team, connecting team members to contract objectives and ensuring business needs are translated into actionable tasks that deliver improved business outcomes. An offer will be made at one of the following tiers: Tier 1 — $71,400: Meets stated qualification and experience requirements. May need guidance and training beyond onboarding to perform the more complex functions of the role. Tier 2 — $73,950: Experienced and fully competent. Will be able to independently perform key responsibilities of the role once onboarding is completed. Tier 3 — $76,500: Highly experienced and can perform all responsibilities of the role at a higher level than expected once onboarding is completed. To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary range and corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable. This is a US-based remote position open to applicants in the states listed below. Some travel may be required. Arizona California District of Columbia Florida Georgia Idaho Illinois Maryland Massachusetts Montana Nevada New Jersey New York North Carolina Oregon South Carolina Tennessee Texas Virginia Washington Wisconsin What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) Partner with business stakeholders and the internal Engineering team to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria Assist in creating release notes and maintaining project and implementation documentation, requirements artifacts, process flows, and user guides to ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives Support the Product Manager/Product Owner in managing the product backlog and help ensure delivered functionality meets documented business requirements Identify process improvements and recommend solutions that align with modernization objectives In Your First 30 Days, You Will: Complete new hire orientation training and meet with external counterparts and stakeholders across the org Identify and meet with key federal partners, leads, and internal cross-functional peers to understand their pain points and expectations Become familiar with recurring processes, workflows, and stakeholder/business requirements After 60 Days: Take ownership of tasks such as developing and maintaining documentation, process and user guides, etc. Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, etc. Begin supporting the Product Manager/Owner in managing the product backlog After 90 Days: Identify learning and development opportunities and work with your manager to establish a professional development plan for yourself Operate as a fully integrated member of the team and assume full responsibility and accountability for all functions associated with the role Who You Are and What You Know (Knowledge and Experience Requirements) Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a Business/Product/Systems Analyst role Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (SharePoint, Teams, etc.) Experience defining data and business process requirements and able to break down large, complex problems into actionable, testable steps Understanding of the principles, theories, and concepts of Agile software development life cycle Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written and verbal and/or with the use of assistive tech as needed) with strong technical writing skills Excellent time management and organization skills and the ability to effectively adapt to changing timelines and requirements as needed Full-time resident of the contiguous United States (must be legally authorized to work in the US now and in the future without sponsorship) Ability to pass a Public Trust background check and any applicable background and/or security checks related to project requirements Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Prior professional services or federal govcon experience Experience using JIRA or other project management tracking tools Experience in data analytics is a plus Other Internet: Will prioritize and maintain access to strong, reliable internet for the remote nature of our work, except when on vacation or holiday. Security: Will keep the highest security practices to ensure privacy and security of Coforma and client information, given the nature of our work, even when on vacation. Travel Flexibility: On request and with advanced notice, will attend in-person events such as meetings, workshops, and trainings as assigned for projects that require it.
