A Day in the Life

As the Senior Program Manager – Integrated Business Planning (IBP), you will serve as the Operating Unit's IBP leader, driving the end-to-end integrated business planning process and ensuring alignment across Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, and Product Lifecycle Management. In this highly visible role, you will lead the monthly IBP operating rhythm, integrating demand, supply, financial, and operational plans into a single, forward-looking roadmap that supports strategic business objectives. Partnering closely with cross-functional leaders, you will facilitate executive decision-making by identifying risks, opportunities, and business scenarios, enabling data-driven decisions that optimize customer service, inventory, revenue, margin, capacity, and working capital across a 3–36 month planning horizon. Through strong collaboration and influence, you will strengthen organizational alignment, improve business agility, and drive operational excellence across the Operating Unit.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and govern the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, including Portfolio, Demand, Supply, Financial, and Management Business Reviews, ensuring alignment across the Operating Unit.

  • Partner with Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, and Product Lifecycle teams to develop and maintain a single, integrated business plan that supports strategic and operational objectives.

  • Analyze business performance, identify risks and opportunities, develop scenario plans, and provide data-driven recommendations to support executive decision-making.

  • Facilitate cross-functional planning forums to align priorities, resolve constraints, manage competing business needs, and drive timely decision-making.

  • Translate long-range strategy, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and quarterly business commitments into actionable execution plans with measurable outcomes.

  • Communicate planning assumptions, business implications, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership, enabling informed decisions and organizational alignment.

  • Drive continuous improvement of the IBP process by implementing best practices, standardizing planning methodologies, leveraging analytics, and enhancing planning capabilities.

  • Influence and align cross-functional teams without direct authority, fostering accountability, collaboration, and execution across a highly matrixed organization.

  • Lead through ambiguity by solving complex business challenges, managing interdependencies across demand, supply, portfolio, and financial planning, and balancing competing priorities to optimize business performance.

Location: Lafayette, CO or Memphis, TN (Onsite)

We’re working onsite 4 days a week to drive performance, foster an environment of belonging, and collaborate to inspire as we engineer the extraordinary. This role will require <20% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Minimum Requirement (Basic Qualifications):

To be considered for this position, the following Basic Qualifications must be evident on your resume

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline with minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, OR

  • Advance degree in technical discipline with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Nice To Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience with Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), or enterprise supply chain planning.

  • Broad business and operational planning experience within complex, global organizations.

  • Experience in medical device, orthopedics, aerospace, automotive, electronics, consumer products, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment.

  • Strong facilitation, analytical, executive communication, and presentation skills.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$171,200.00 - $256,800.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
