The Sterile Processing Technician cleans, decontaminates, and sterilizes all instrumentation and associated equipment for the OR and other hospital departments. Responsible for accurately completing all records pertinent to sterilization process. Works with repair vendor to maintain integrity of instrumentation. Monitors all autoclaves and arranges for maintenance of same.
Work Schedule:
32 hrs weekly / .8 FTE; 12:00pm to 8:30pm, on-call Saturday and Sunday every 9th weekend after training is complete
Required Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Employees Hired Prior to 12/28/2020:
Must have one of the following:
• Current CSPDT from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
• Current CRCST from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
• Equivalent Sterile Processing Technician experience.
Employees Hired On or After 12/28/2020:
Must have one of the following:
• Current CSPDT from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or obtained within one year from hire date
• Current CRCST from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association or obtained within one year from hire date
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework in Sterile Processing or equivalent Sterile Processing Technician experience
- Certification in sterilization
