You will work on delivering quality systems to meet market needs and establish relations across IBM and with external suppliers/vendors. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Develop Hardware Designs: Develop designs across the disciplines of mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering, ensuring that components are unit tested and ready to be integrated into the system product. • Test and Validate: Test the functional and RAS (reliability, availability, and serviceability) aspects of the implementation to ensure quality systems. • Provide Fixes: Provide fixes to defects identified by the verification team during the development life cycle. • Support Customer Environments: Support customer environments in providing end-to-end solutions and resolution of issues. • Collaborate with Suppliers: Establish relations with external suppliers/vendors to deliver quality systems. **Required technical and professional expertise** • Design Development Experience: Experience with developing designs across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering, utilizing design documentation such as Functional Specifications and high-level design documents. • Testing and Validation Expertise: Experience in testing and validating the functional and RAS aspects of hardware implementations to ensure quality systems. • Defect Resolution Skills: Experience with identifying and providing fixes to defects during the development life cycle. • System Integration Knowledge: Experience with integrating components into system products, ensuring they are unit tested and ready for integration. • Supplier Collaboration Experience: Experience establishing relations with external suppliers/vendors to deliver quality systems. **Preferred technical and professional experience** • Mechanical Engineering Knowledge: Experience with mechanical engineering principles and practices is beneficial for designing and developing hardware systems. Understanding mechanical components and their integration into system products can aid in delivering quality systems. • Electrical Engineering Principles: Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts and practices can be advantageous in developing hardware designs across multiple disciplines. Knowledge of electrical components and their interactions can help ensure quality systems. • Firmware Development Exposure: Exposure to firmware development and its integration with mechanical and electrical components can be valuable in developing comprehensive hardware systems.
