Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Assembly Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Assembly Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to positively impact safety, quality, and productivity KPI’s through problem solving and project management.

Reporting to the Assembly Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Assembly Engineering department's objective to ensure TMMI safely builds the highest quality vehicles for their customers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Apply engineering principles to resolve manufacturing operational issues.

  • Quickly gather and analyze detailed data to make decisions impacting vehicle quality.

  • Provide technical support to production for process improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure all activities comply with TMMI’s safety standards and OSHA regulations by providing tools, knowledge, and acting as a verification resource.

  • Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams including production, safety, conveyance, maintenance, inspection, and quality.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Applied Engineering​.

  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment in an engineering or technical role, including co-op or internship experience during studies.

  • Project management experience (to include developing, leading, prioritizing work, meeting milestones, gaining consensus, and reporting out status of project)

  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with all levels within and outside the organization.

  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • This position requires driving.  A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

Added bonus if you have

  • Bachelor’s degree- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Suite CAD software.

  • Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements.

  • Experience with Equipment FMEA and machine reliability.

  • Expertise in machine design, risk assessment, and control implementation.

  • Experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards within the automotive industry.
