Ferguson Industrial is seeking a Buyer Associate to support procurement activities and deliver excellent customer service while working on-site with a collaborative team at our customer location in Hobart, NY. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career or looking to transition into a purchasing role—no extensive buying experience required.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day purchasing and procurement tasks
  • Monitor inventory and manage product shortages
  • Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to support order needs
  • Help process purchase orders and track order status
  • Expedite orders and follow up on deliveries
  • Support basic reporting and data analysis related to inventory and usage
  • Assist with resolving invoice discrepancies and freight billing questions
  • Maintain accurate product and order information in systems
  • Research product specifications when needed
  • Provide support in resolving customer and supplier inquiries

Qualifications:

  • Interest in supply chain, purchasing, or operations (prior experience is helpful but not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow processes and learn new systems quickly
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic

Nice to Have (Not Required):

  • Any exposure to procurement, inventory, or warehouse environments
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) products

Pay Range:

$15.00 - $27.50

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
