Entry-Level Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift

Kick-start your career in industrial maintenance! We're looking for a motivated Entry-Level Maintenance Technician who's eager to learn and build hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. You'll work alongside experienced technicians keeping our tube mill production equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently. If you have a basic mechanical/electrical background and a strong work ethic, we'll help you grow the rest.
Shift: 2nd Shift
Pay: $18.00 per hour
What You'll Do
- Perform electrical maintenance on equipment, following all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Ensure all guards and safety devices are in place and functional before returning equipment to service.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts, equipment, and supplies; place orders and verify deliveries as needed.
- Use manual and computerized maintenance management systems to track, inspect, and document equipment status.
- Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics to diagnose and repair machinery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and quality issues, escalating concerns when necessary.
- Perform breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeovers on production equipment.
- Identify and report safety, quality, and operational issues when unable to correct them independently.
- Observe mechanical devices in operation and use precision instruments to diagnose and correct malfunctions.
- Fabricate and install repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Operate powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in problem-solving activities.
- Promote a strong culture of health and safety in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What You Bring
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or maintenance-related environment (internships, technical coursework, or military experience count!).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school, apprenticeship, or military training a plus.
- Basic familiarity with hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and technical drawings.
- Willingness to learn electrical systems and PLCs; prior exposure is a bonus but not required.
- Effective communication skills in English with the ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Eagerness to learn and develop troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
- Ability to pass job-related testing, an employment physical, and a drug screening.
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
- Stands or walks for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Bends, twists, stoops, sits, kneels, crawls, and reaches in all directions as required.
- Performs other physical tasks as necessary for the role.
