AEM Content Author – Job Description
An AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) Content Author is responsible for creating, managing, and publishing digital content within AEM-based platforms. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders to fulfill content requests, maintain digital assets, and ensure timely updates across web portals and applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Authoring & Publishing
- Create, edit, and publish web pages using AEM authoring tools
- Manage structured and unstructured content (text, images, documents)
- Handle new page creation, updates, and content lifecycle management
- Follow predefined templates and reuse existing content components
2. Digital Asset Management (DAM)
- Upload, organize, and maintain assets in AEM DAM
- Ensure correct categorization (e.g., public vs secure/logged-in content)
- Manage asset lifecycle (update, replace, archive based on expiry)
3. Content Operations & Request Handling
- Receive and process content requests from business stakeholders
- Track requests via tools (e.g., mail, ticketing systems, planners, Jira)
- Communicate status updates and completion confirmation
4. Regular Content Updates
- Perform scheduled updates (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Maintain accuracy of frequently changing content like reports, KPIs, documents
- Ensure consistency across all pages
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication
- Work closely with multiple business teams (marketing, product teams, operations)
- Ensure content aligns with branding and business requirements
- Coordinate approvals and feedback loops
6. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Validate content accuracy, links, formatting, and consistency
- Ensure compliance with accessibility and content guidelines
- Review and test content before publishing
7. Platform Awareness
- Understand AEM basics (Author vs Publish environments)
- Work within access permissions and secure areas
- Support content-related activities in integrated portals
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
- Knowledge of AEM Sites & DAM
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS (optional but beneficial)
- Familiarity with CMS workflows and content lifecycle
- Content writing/editing and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple content requests
- Good communication with stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, or related field
- 1–5 years of experience in CMS or AEM content authoring
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in enterprise portals (like CPPortal-type systems)
- Understanding of workflows, tagging, and personalization in AEM
- Exposure to Agile or ticketing tools (JIRA, Planner, etc.)
