Are you a recent engineering graduate or an entry-level professional eager to start your career in aerospace and defense? The Global Engineering Technical Center (GETC) in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, is seeking a highly motivated Component Engineer to join our team. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, have strong problem-solving skills, and thrive in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment. As a Component Engineer, you will receive mentorship and training while contributing to the selection, qualification, and management of critical components for our products. The ideal candidate has eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
What YOU will do:
- Obsolescence Health Reviews: Assisting in the evaluation of electronic and/or mechanical components for lifecycle management and obsolescence risks.
- Component Data Management: Supporting the creation, maintenance, and approval of SAP Manufacturer Part Numbers (MPN) for components from approved suppliers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with the component engineering team and other cross-functional teams to address supplier requests for information and support design and manufacturing efforts.
- Learning and Development: Gaining knowledge of aerospace and defense industry standards, design processes, and best practices to ensure component reliability and optimal performance.
- Manage the engineering change process for component drawings, resolve roadblocks, and ensure documentation meets design and quality standards.
Qualifications you must have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Academic or project experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or Electrical Design.
- Experience working with electronic components through design activities or analyzing component specifications.
- Exposure to software tools such as SAP and Teamcenter is a plus.
