In this role, you will support the Fire business within our Building Technologies & Solutions organization, helping deliver fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fire suppression, integrated security, sound and communications, and nurse call solutions for life-safety-critical environments.
Role Overview
The Fire Construction Manager leads the daily operations of construction installation projects, with a focus on fire alarm work in commercial environments. You will coach and mentor technicians, coordinate materials and equipment, track project financials, and stay connected to customers and job sites to keep work moving safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on field leadership role with significant time spent visiting active projects and supporting the team on execution.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of construction installation projects from start through completion.
Coach and mentor technicians and apprentices to support quality, productivity, and team development.
Order materials and equipment needed for active projects and help maintain schedule alignment.
Monitor financial performance for each project and provide accurate status updates during WIP meetings.
Maintain installer schedules and track hours assigned to projects.
Work closely with Operations to resolve issues and support project execution as needed.
Conduct regular job site safety walkthroughs, EHS evaluations, and accident investigations.
Attend construction meetings and interface with end-users, architects, and general contractors.
Help interview and evaluate employees and apprentices when needed.
Set goals, communicate expectations, and review performance to support strong team results.
How You Will Do It
You will own results with accountability, safety, and integrity while leading projects and supporting your team in the field.
You will stay close to the work by visiting job sites regularly, understanding project conditions, and removing obstacles that slow customers or installers down.
You will use clear communication and practical problem-solving to keep project status, labor, materials, and financials aligned.
You will drive continuous improvement by sharing candid feedback, documenting training, and helping the team learn from issues and inspections.
You will win as one team by working across Operations, customers, architects, and general contractors with trust and collaboration.
Maintain current and documented safety and industry training for all technicians before they arrive at the job site.
Support productive WIP meetings with accurate updates on scope, labor, materials, and progress.
Build a positive work environment through coaching, motivation, and consistent leadership practices.
Qualifications
5-10 years of management experience in Fire Alarm Installation within the commercial industry.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience or knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft products.
Proficiency with personal computers, including Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows NT, and Windows 2000.
Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and remain effective in a fast-paced construction environment.
Nice to Have
Fire Alarm, Access Controls, and CCTV certifications.
NICET Certification Level 3 or greater.
Project management experience.
Estimating experience.
Knowledge of P&L.
Experience overseeing fire alarm installation projects in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.

The hiring salary range for this role is $112K-$120K, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, location, and market data.
