About the Team
The Approval Centre Korea (ACK) in Busan is a key competence hub supporting both Korea and regional markets. Working closely with DNV’s global network, ACK delivers plan approval and pre-contract services for newbuilding projects, certification of materials and components and technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
Position Description
We are looking for a Junior Approval Expert – Piping & Safety to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to build a strong technical foundation within a purpose-driven organization. You will work alongside experienced experts, contributing to the review and approval of cutting-edge ship designs while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve piping and fire safety design drawings in accordance with DNV and regulatory requirements
- Support our field operations and clients with technical advice and clarifications
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of rules, guidelines, and internal procedures
- Participate in pre-contract activities, including technical support and customer engagement
- Contribute to the development of new designs, solutions, and services
- Ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of project outputs in line with DNV and client expectations

Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Basic to good understanding of classification rules and statutory requirements (SOLAS, MARPOL, MODU, FSS, Load Lines, IGC, IGF etc.)
Knowledge of gas carriers, oil tankers, container vessels and offshore units is an advantage.
Willingness to build competence and professional networks within DNV’s global organization
