Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Maintenance Mechanic III, you will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems.Every day, you will troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain a wide range of machinery and building systems, executing preventative maintenance, responding to repair requests, and ensuring safe and efficient operation.To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail in diagnostics and repair, and the ability to work independently to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.

  • Responsible for maintaining and repairing the hospital. Performs wall patching, plastering, painting, floor repairs, drain cleaning, minor plumbing, and general building maintenance tasks. Repairs beds, furniture, doors, and other facility fixtures as needed. Replaces light bulbs and ballasts to ensure proper facility lighting. Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Performs independent preventive maintenance and equipment inspections. Detects, troubleshoots, and resolves mechanical and electrical issues and pneumatic systems.
  • Performs specialized plumbing repairs, including pipefitting, copper sweating, silver brazing, and pipe threading.
  • Performs complex troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems, including low-voltage wiring, motor control centers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), DDC controls, chillers, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, air conditioning units, and main and secondary distribution systems.
  • Responsible for the overall hospital comfort, which includes operation, repair, and maintenance of the boiler plant, chiller plant, overall hospital comfort, auxiliary equipment, emergency generators/switchgear operations, HVAC systems, and related process equipment. Ensures proper water treatment for boilers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, closed-loop systems, associated controls, and related equipment.
  • Completes work orders within assigned deadlines and ensures follow-up with stakeholders. Maintains accurate daily logs for assigned tasks, ensuring proper record-keeping. Communicates work order updates to customers to meet expectations.
