Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise ontologies using semantic web standards and ontology development best practices.
- Build and manage formal knowledge frameworks that enable machine-readable, interoperable, and scalable data models.
- Map business concepts, internal terminology, and proprietary data models to industry-standard ontologies and reference frameworks.
- Develop semantic models that support seamless data integration across multiple systems and business domains.
- Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, product teams, and subject matter experts to structure knowledge for AI, machine learning, and knowledge graph applications.
- Create semantic models that improve AI performance, enhance contextual understanding, reduce hallucinations, and strengthen information retrieval capabilities.
- Translate business requirements and competency questions into scalable ontology models and knowledge structures.
- Design and maintain taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, metadata standards, and semantic governance frameworks.
- Document ontology design processes, governance practices, and maintenance guidelines.
- Ensure ontology quality, consistency, scalability, and alignment with organizational data governance standards.
- Support knowledge graph implementation, semantic search initiatives, and advanced data integration projects.
- 5+ years of experience in ontology engineering, semantic data modeling, knowledge representation, or related fields.
- Strong expertise in Semantic Web technologies, including RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SPARQL.
- Deep understanding of semantic data modeling concepts, linked data principles, and ontology design methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with ontology development tools such as Protégé, TopBraid Composer, PoolParty, CENtree, or similar platforms.
- Strong programming skills in Python for scripting, automation, and ontology processing tasks.
- Experience working with data formats including JSON, XML, Turtle (TTL), and RDF serialization formats.
- Familiarity with APIs, data integration workflows, and enterprise data environments.
- Understanding of knowledge graph technologies and semantic search solutions is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business concepts into structured data models.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a remote environment.
