So, what if the next big idea, and the next great career story, comes from you? Become the force that turns every “what if” into “what’s next.”
In a world where you can be anything, Be Infoblox.
Senior Data Scientist
We have an opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science team in Bangalore, reporting to the Senior Director, Data Science. In this pivotal role, you will drive advanced analytics and machine learning solutions that power our security, networking, and cloud data products. Collaborating closely with Engineering, Product Management, Threat Intelligence, and Data Engineering, you will design and operationalize models that detect threats, optimize cloud services, and unlock insights from massive datasets — using AI to move from raw data to real-time decisions at scale.
Be a Contributor — What You’ll Do
- Design machine learning and statistical models powering core Infoblox security, threat intelligence, and networking features, from anomaly detection to risk scoring
- Translate business and product requirements into clear data science problems and measurable success metrics with Product and Engineering
- Explore and curate large-scale structured and unstructured datasets (DNS, network, and security telemetry) to uncover patterns and guide feature design
- Build, evaluate, and tune supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised models using Python, scikit-learn, XGBoost, and PyTorch/TF
- Apply Generative AI and LLM-based techniques (feature engineering, log summarization, analyst-assist tools) to accelerate delivery and improve user experience
- Run end-to-end experimentation, including A/B tests and offline/online evaluation, ensuring performance, reliability, and fairness before production
- Productionize models and pipelines with Data Engineering on cloud-native platforms, ensuring scalability, observability, and cost efficiency
- Refine heuristics and models with Threat Intelligence and Security Research based on new attack patterns and analyst feedback
- Communicate model behavior, business impact, and trade-offs through clear narratives, dashboards, and visualizations
- Champion reproducible research, code reviews, documentation, and responsible AI practices across the team
Be Prepared — What You Bring
- 7–10 years of industry experience in data science, machine learning, or applied statistics, with 3+ years deploying models in production
- Strong proficiency in Python and core data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn), with hands-on experience training and validating models on large datasets
- Proven experience with ML techniques relevant to security or networking — anomaly detection, time-series modeling, clustering, classification, and ensemble methods
- Practical exposure to cloud data and ML platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps tooling (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, or equivalent)
- Experience applying AI/ML and Generative AI/LLMs to improve workflows such as automated triage, intelligent alerting, summarization, or recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to frame ambiguous problems, design experiments, interpret results, and present clear recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders
- Solid data engineering fundamentals (SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT, distributed data systems) and effective partnership with Data Engineering teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field; Master’s or Ph.D. is a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across global teams and mentor junior data scientists or analysts
Be Successful — Your Path
First 90 Days: Immerse in our culture, connect with mentors (Blox Buddies), and map the systems and meet with key stakeholders that rely on your work. Discuss and create short/long term goals.
Six Months:
- Own one or more data science projects end-to-end — from problem definition through deployment — in a key product or platform area
- Establish repeatable workflows for experimentation, model evaluation, and performance monitoring with Engineering and Data Engineering
- Refine and extend at least one existing model or heuristic with Threat Intelligence and Product, with measurable gains in precision/recall or customer outcomes
- Contribute to reusable components (code templates, feature stores, evaluation frameworks) that accelerate AI/ML delivery across the team
One Year:
- Serve as the primary data science lead for a significant product or domain area, shaping the AI/ML roadmap with Product and Engineering
- Drive adoption of responsible and efficient AI practices, including model governance, explainability, and cost-aware deployment
- Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, growing capabilities in advanced modeling, experimentation, and applied AI
- Demonstrate clear business impact — improved detection efficacy, reduced false positives, better customer experience, or new AI-powered capabilities
Belong — Your Community
Our culture thrives on inclusion, rewarding the bold ideas, curiosity, and creativity that move us forward. In a community where every voice counts, continuous learning is the norm. So, whether you code, create, sell, or care for customers, you’ll grow and belong here.
Be Rewarded — Benefits That Help You Grow, Thrive, Belong
- Comprehensive health coverage, generous PTO, and flexible work options
- Learning opportunities, career-mobility programs, and leadership workshops
- Sixteen paid volunteer hours each year, global employee resource groups, and a “No Jerks” policy that keeps collaboration healthy
- Modern offices with EV charging, healthy snacks (and the occasional cupcake), plus hackathons, game nights, and culture celebrations
- Charitable Giving Program supported by Company Match
